Verify a Jacksonville roofer before you sign

Rules that protect you

• Sign inside the six-month window after your area's own emergency declaration and state law stretches your cancellation right out to 10 days, or up to whenever the crew is scheduled to actually begin, whichever lands sooner.^[5]
• Roofing generally requires a building permit; the state's $7,500 minor-repair exemption for homeowners doesn't cover structural work like roofing.^[7]
• A first payment above the 10% mark triggers Florida's permit clock, giving the contractor a month to submit the paperwork and three months from its issue date to actually get started.^[8]
